Osama Bin Laden/Col. Sanders/Kentucky Fried Chicken mashup sticker seen on the subway (N/R Train uptown).
"If you're chasing the chicken around the chicken yard and you don't have him yet and the question is, 'how close are you?' the answer is, 'it's tough to characterise because there's lots of zigs and zags.'"

Clean Streets
Late night. Cleaning the street in front of the Ritz Carlton Hotel on Central Park South. Reading The City took a closer look at this phenomenon last week.

Yummy Cold Chicken Meatloaf Sandwich
New Caporal Fried Chicken and Shrimp on 156th and Broadway. The most unhealthiest place to eat in Manhattan. 1" thick bulletproof glass protects the chicken man from the upstanding clientele. Their logo is a chicken with a gun. Chicken and shrimp was pretty damn good. Comes with a mountain of french fries too.
Lock 'Em Up
Can you believe the thieves were nice enough to leave the seat and the pedals? Manhattan is littered with bicycles like this. There are thousands of them chained up all over the city. It's a good thing someone has a plan.
Hair Today Gone Tomorrow
This has been long overdue. The Hi-Top Fade is coming back big time. Here is an interesting variation. More information for the curious here.

Moving Morning Minstrels
If you were looking for a little peace and quiet on your commute this morning, the N/R line was not the place to find it. These buskers move between subway cars playing and singing for tips. I think you might call them jarochos, wandering bands of minstrel musicians, similar to mariachis.
The Back of the Van
There's a lack of public facilities in New York City. Not sure why the door is wide open, but here's an option if you are in the Union Square area and are looking for a unisex (?) restroom.

Pants On Pants Off
Is this a very comfortable way to wear pants? Praying for this trend to end.
UPDATE: I'm not the only one. Trendwatcher and fashion photograper Bill Cunningham of The New York Times takes note of this unique way of wearing your pants. Apparently this is possibly related to the stock market fall and the coming Great Depression of 2008-2009?

Graffiti on 27th Street and Lexington Avenue
One of the best pieces of graffiti in New York City. This reminds me of a book that Testify Books just published about subway graffiti characters and cartoons.

Make Love Not War
Not Your Average Starbucks Customer
A tourist from England standing at the Astor Place Starbucks on Sunday afternoon. Did he order a Grande Coffee Frappuccino or perhaps a Double Soy Venti-sized Mocha Valencia? It takes him about 20 minutes to get his hair to stand up like this. I asked. He looks mean, but he was quite nice. I admired his hair, but I didn't touch it.
