Manhattan By Carriage

I don't know many New Yorkers that take these horse-drawn carriages as they are really geared towards tourists, but I am fairly certain that galloping through the park on a snowy evening might be a good way to enjoy a handful of leftover Valentine's Day cookies.

  1. Usually the "smell" a bit too much. Probably a bit less in winter...

  2. Valentine's Day cookies usually smell pretty good. Maybe it would be a good idea to stay away from the peanut butter ones, but other than that you'll be fine.

  3. What a wonderful way to spend an evening snuggled up munching on cookies while riding through the park. I would love to do that.

  4. Central Park is pretty nice this time of year. It's not very crowded because the cold keeps a lot of people away.

  5. I thought you meant prodding the horses to gallop w/ Valentine's Day cookies! Everyone operates better w/ a little love, right?

  6. Sure, you should prod the horses any way you can think of. Some V-Day cookies might be just the trick to get them galloping along through the Great Lawn.

  7. Remember when Big took Carrie on the carraige ride through Central Park? Ahh, tre romantique.

I'm left really wanting a cookie right now.

  8. I may have missed that episode of SATC. I did have dinner next to Big a year or two ago and he didn't know the difference between MySpace and YouTube which was kind of frightening. He doesn't even own his own domain so his web presence/skills are a little lacking.

However, on another note, forget cookies, let's talk about cupcakes. There is a new branch of Magnolia Bakery that opened near Rockefeller Center so you could get a couple of cupcakes (or a couple dozen - I like the red velvet ones, hint hint) and then go for a carriage ride after a short walk up 6th Avenue to the park. That might be even better.

I always think it's funny when I see tourists taking pictures in front of Magnolia on 6th Avenue and 50th Street because it has nothing to do with the show unless they went there in the SATC movie and I kind of doubt that.

  9. I was at the Magnolia Bakery on
6th Avenue yesterday and I ate a red velvet cupcake. It was delicious! My "date" had the banana pudding, equally as delicious. I also thought it was a bit curious seeing tourists taking photos of the bakery. I can understand them taking photos of the one on Bleeker because that one is "famous".
