The best thing about Duane Reade is that they are open 24 hours. This makes it convenient when you realize you are totally out of cat food at 11:45pm and Mr. Orange isn't happy since he hasn't eaten since lunch time.
But what really sucks is when you belong to their Dollar Rewards Club and then you forget to use the $5 coupon before it expires. I hate the way you can't use it at the same time that they issue the coupon. They give you two weeks to use it, but I forget to use it more often than I would like. I'm sure they totally count on this happening.
I think most of this type of coupon thing is a come-on. I dislike Rite Aid for the same reason, ever since once they refused to give me their 'member' price because I didn't have my card... I don't know if they still have this system; never returned!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely they count on it happening. Couponing seems terrific but as with "cash back" offers with big ticket items such as TVs and computers, consumers don't go to the hassle of redeeming them...and end up paying more then they calculated when they made the decision to purchase. Lucky, Mr. Orange. He thought he'd be eating cheaper food. You rewarded him with the expensive stuff.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! Come out, & we can go to the Neon Museum downtown. Really nice shot :)
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of camera do you use?
ReplyDeleteIMO just any old crappy digital camera will do. Currently I have a Panasonic Lumix FX48 which I like just for taking basic shots and carrying around with me in the city since it's small and fits in my pocket. It's good, but really nothing so fancy. I wish I could get a better camera actually. It isn't really so much that the camera matters, but what you take pictures of. Lumix has a good lens and is good in low light which is important to me, but I could really use any camera.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info! I'll check it out.
