Search & Destroy

Search & Destroy is a great vintage punk clothing store on St. Marks Place. Some say it's the best in NYC. I don't normally go out vintage shopping, but I should do it more often. If you were a punk in high school and listened to Minor Threat and Black Flag, then this is the place for you. They definitely don't want you to sit on their steps. Nice use of the Misfits skulls for their signage.

Megan Fox's Graffiti Truck

Rumor has it that Transformers star Megan Fox was briefly seen behind the wheel of this graffiti-clad truck parked on St. Marks Place and 3rd Avenue in the heart of the East Village. This truck is surely about to transform into some crazy alien robot. Luckily, I got out of there in time. No doubt she was making a quick dash into Trash and Vaudeville to pick up some black stretch jeans and a Sham 69 t-shirt.

Henry Rollins, Sells Out or Cashes In?

Henry Rollins, patron saint of the commercialized underground, does another advertisement - this time for Vans. In his defense, Vans is a totally independent company and Henry has worn their sneakers for decades. But a huge billboard on St. Marks Place is either really cool or supremely lame. Or both.

On closer inspection (click the first picture) "Five Shots of Anything for $10. All Day/All Night" What??? This is obviously the place in New York to go get your cheapo drunk on!

Party on my loyal blog readers. After you've had FIVE shots, don't forget to get an Angus Third Pounder next door at McDonalds. Tell them Henry sent you.
