Isn't She Lovely?

After a quick afternoon trip to the post office (no line!), I figured it was way too nice of an afternoon to stay inside with Mr. Orange. (OJ did spend some quality time looking out the open windows at birds and taxicabs so you needn't worry if he had a productive afternoon or not.) Apparently the rest of the city had the exact same thought as me because when I went out for a bike ride it was unbelievably packed everywhere. Doesn't anyone stay inside on a nice day like today? I actually don't really like unseasonably warm weather. The normal temperature for today is 64 degrees, not 80. Tomorrow is supposed to be around 88. I might have to make some iced tea though I think I need a new glass pitcher.

I went out to the bike shop on 58th Street near 7th Avenue where I managed to get the tires on my bike pumped up. I noticed they were a little low and I was happy to cross that off my list. I also ran into a totally insane man on the corner of 59th Street right near Central Park. I didn't feel like stopping for a chat with him, but he was more than happy to strike a Madonna-like pose for me.

If only all my prom dates could be so well endowed and accessorized.

that's a really nice shot. You got all the colors & textures--even the dog's "flair." It may be very Cindi Lauper/Robin Williams, but I think the blue ensemble was definitely the right choice.

Nice picture. Speaking of glass pictures for iced tea... I had a nice glass one but broke it the other day. I stupidly did not realize that pouring boiling hot water into it to make iced tea would make the whole thing crack and fall apart in front of my eyes. I was so bummed cause I was looking forward to a nice glass of tea!!

Stop whining and enjoy this sunshiny weekend! ;)
I saw this guy last year at the US Open, with the same little dog but I think he was pink or blue. There's a fashion designer who has almost the same haircut and wears very similar clothes (can't recall her name right now).

The same thing happened to my glass pitcher. It cracked in a couple different places. Obviously, pouring hot tea over ice cubes into a thick glass pitcher isn't the smartest thing to do, but it feels good all the same.

You totally read that wrong, I wasn't whining at all. I didn't say I didn't enjoy the nice weather yesterday and today. I did go out and ride my bike around. I was merely saying that I don't particularly care for unseasonable weather. So while I might not really love it when it snows in April, I also don't like it when it's 85 degrees in April either. I can go out and make snowmen or run around in the sun with everyone else, but I don't have to love it.

Yes, I did understand that completely. I was just pulling your leg,
hence the ";)" . I guess I need to brush up on my Belgian humour!
Another beautiful day today!

It seems I can never tell when anyone is joking. You're not the only one.

I don't know a thing about Belgian humor, but I know a couple of people who totally don't get my Austrian humor. I like Belgian chocolate. I hope that counts.

I was visiting NYC in the summer of 2007 and saw this same guy. I have a picture of him very similar to this outside of St. Patrick's Cathedral. He was pushing a stroller at the time with the dog sitting inside. The bird on his head is what catches me the most of guard but that just may own hangup about how dirty birds are or at least seem to be.
